In memory of Gallus Bammert
The Swiss aviation scene lost a valued colleague in Gallus Bammert on Easter Monday. Born in St. Gallen on August 11, 1941, Gallus Bammert trained as a photographer before finding his way into aviation in Argentina. Back in Switzerland, he worked in the Swissair office in Basel, where aviation legend Rudolf Klemm encouraged him to train as a flight instructor.
Gallus Bammert has successfully trained many young pilots in countless FVS courses as an instructor. He worked in the FVS working group on the modernization of FVS training and later on the change to SPHAIR. From 1975 to 1980, he flew for Tranvalair on CL44 transport flights, mainly to Africa. From 1995, Gallus worked for SRAS / SAT as the person responsible for JAR documentation, as an instructor and as a flight instructor. He was also a speaker at numerous further training courses for flight instructors and an instructor at the ZHAW. His extensive knowledge made him a valued member of international organizations such as JAR, EASA and ICAO, where he was able to implement many revolutionary ideas.
In Gallus, we have lost a friend and a great idealist. He was a visionary who was always ahead of his time. Bruno Guggiari
