FAI Sport License
The FAI sports license is required for participation in national and international competitions and for glider performance flights. Membership of the relevant divisional associations is a prerequisite.
Issue of sports licenses
Each NAC (National Airsport Control, in this case the AeCS) has the right, FAI sports licenses for those of its members who are either citizens of the country of this NAC or permanently reside there.
Prerequisites (Excerpt from the "Sporting Code - General Section")
- A person's citizenship is evidenced by an identity card indicating their citizenship and issued by or on behalf of the government of the country concerned.
- A person's place of residence is where they usually live for at least 185 days in each calendar year due to personal and professional ties, or in the case of a person without professional ties, due to personal ties that show close links between that person and the place where they live.
- A person may only hold the sporting license of one NAC at a time. A person who chooses to transfer to another NAC may only receive a sporting license from their new NAC once the former NAC has been notified and has withdrawn all valid sporting licenses issued by it.
- The FAI sports license is valid for 1 year from receipt of payment, but at the latest until 31.03. of the following year.
