AeroMed - Medicine in aviation 

The AeroMed department is available to advise athletes, coaches and the divisional associations of the Aero Club of Switzerland on medical and health-related issues in aviation sports.

The AeroMed expert group is made up of specialists from various medical disciplines, including general internal medicine, cardiology, emergency medicine, pediatric and adolescent medicine and physical medicine. The members also have qualifications in sports medicine and nutritional medicine. Some of the members also work as aeromedical examiners (AME) and therefore have special expertise in the field of aeromedical assessment.

Thanks to this interdisciplinary composition, the AeroMed department can comprehensively assess medical issues in aviation and provide expert advice to the Swiss Aero Club and its members.

The central tasks of the department include in particular

  • Advising the Aero Club of Switzerland and its divisional associations on medical matters
    of aviation
  • Support for athletes and coaches in medical matters,
    physiological and health-related issues
  • Information and support in the area of anti-doping
  • Promotion of ethics, integrity and health protection in sport
  • Cooperation with national and international organizations in the field of air sports,

  • Sports medicine aspects of performance, regeneration and stress

Ethics in sport

The Aero Club of Switzerland is committed to healthy, respectful, fair and successful sport. This is based on the values of Swiss sport and the principles of the Ethics Charter and the Ethics Statute of Swiss Olympic.
