About us

The Aero Club of Switzerland (AeCS) is the umbrella organization for Swiss light aviation and air sports.

The AeCS is committed to its 22,000 members at all levels. It is committed to the needs of the 35 regional associations and eight divisions and actively exerts influence in various committees. It operates a political network and communicates internally and externally.

The AeCS combines aviation expertise in all the areas it supports. The focus is on the interests of light aviation and air sports disciplines. As a sports association, the AeCS is a member of the FAI (Fédération Aéronautique Internationale), the World Air Sports Federation and at European level with Europe Air Sports (EAS). The umbrella organization exercises national sporting sovereignty over all air sports in Switzerland and is a member of the Swiss Olympic Association (Swiss Olympic).

The challenges facing the Aero Club of Switzerland are manifold and will continue to increase in the future. In all its activities, the AeCS is based on five main pillars. These form the main strategic areas of the AeCS:

  • International participation and influence in organizations and committees.
  • National participation and influence in politics, authorities, organizations and specialist committees. Striking external image through active communication/PR and lobbying.
  • Promotion and maintenance of general aviation, with priority given to light aviation and air sports disciplines, education, training and the maintenance or safeguarding of access to airspace and infrastructure.
  • Promotion of young pilots, youth programs, training and further education.

Broad-based and secure foundation thanks to a large and consolidated membership base, thereby securing legitimacy and financial resources.
