Bright eyes at the Pro Aero JULA in the Engadin

Enthusiastic faces, shining eyes and a flawless sky over the Engadin: the 40th Pro Aero Youth Camp (JULA) celebrated a day of superlatives at Samedan airfield on Tuesday, June 30.

165 children and young people, including 20 girls, are currently spending an aviation week in the Engadin. Model gliders, hot-air balloons, boomerangs, rockets and kites are being built at the S-chanf troop camp. In the evenings, there are all kinds of lectures to listen to and sport is also a big part of the camp week. A team of 40 leaders under camp leader Marc Robert takes care of the program and the (very good) catering for all camp participants.
On Tuesday, the traditional day of visits was held under a bright blue sky at Samedan airfield. On the one hand, the camp participants experience the whole range of light aviation at various stations, while on the other, visitors from the Aero Club and the Pro Aero Foundation, which has provided significant financial support for the camps since 1983, can find out about the current JULA.
The participants and visitors experienced an unforgettable day at the Engadine airport. This was made possible on the one hand by Samedan airfield itself, which has hosted the JULA for decades in an uncomplicated and helpful manner. On the other hand, the Swiss Air Force, supported by Heli Bernina, provided a program of superlatives, this time with an exclusive demonstration by the PC-7 team in addition to the Super Puma. The flight demonstrations were rounded off by two professional model aircraft pilots with their large-scale models of the Swiss Air Force. D
