Indoor skydiving championships
The 10th Swiss Indoor Skydiving Championships took place at Windwerk Winterthur from March 20 to 22. The anniversary edition not only saw a new record number of participants with 77 athletes, but also a large number of spectators - the facility was particularly well attended during the final rounds on Saturday afternoon.
The combination of a growing number of participants, rising performance levels and strong public interest clearly shows that indoor skydiving in Switzerland is increasingly developing from a fringe sport into an established competition format with a broader appeal.
Young people set the tone
This year, the athletes delivered top-class competitions in seven disciplines and impressed with precision, dynamics and technical diversity in the airflow. Young athletes in particular sent out a key signal: young athletes were not only able to keep up, but also set the tone in the field of participants. The Windwerk in Winterthur hosted the competition for the fourth time.
Winners and runners-up
Team Airheads won the Swiss championship title in formation skydiving 4-way, followed by Airdrops and WingX. Bouba et Frisquette won the Mixed Formation Skydiving 2-Way. In the Skydiving 2-Way formation, the Tiefflieger secured the title. The Freestyle category was dominated by Sina Huber, who won just ahead of Lena Müller. SIRO Gravity triumphed in Dynamic 2-Way with Robin and Sina Huber, who will be competing in the "6th FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving" in France at the beginning of April. Benjamin Guex won the Dynamic Solo Speed, followed by Julien Amerant and Sina Huber again. In the Open Cup, Adrien Gallot (FR) set a record time in Dynamic Solo Speed, for which official recognition is being sought.
