Flims Balloon Week: A Resounding Success

The 53rd International Hot Air Balloon Week in Flims drew an enthusiastic crowd to the mountains and even made it onto German television. The AeCS anniversary balloon is now known far beyond the country's borders.

The Flims Balloon Club succeeded—once again—in organizing a fantastic ballooning week that had something for everyone: wonderful flights for the passengers, beautiful sights for spectators on the ground, and a great afternoon for the kids.

A Grand Debut for the HB Box

The AeCS anniversary balloon served as the honorary balloon and made its grand appearance not only during the nighttime glow. On Wednesday afternoon—traditionally the children’s afternoon—it was used as a tethered balloon, allowing boys and girls to enjoy the view of Flims from the balloon basket. Among others, the Ticino broadcaster RSI was on board with Deny-Joe Arnold. The report aired on October 3, 2026, on the Main Edition of the Tagesschau broadcast. The local station TV Southeast Switzerland sent reporter Jessica Melcher into the balloon basket with a camera and microphone.
