The Charming «Wings and Friends» in Grenchen

It’s almost time: On July 10–11, the Grenchen Airfield will be transformed into a stage for aviation enthusiasts. At Wings and Friends, not only will the Patrouille Suisse put on a spectacular show, but local highlights such as the Classic Formation (pictured) will also take center stage.

Here, too, the Patrouille Suisse air show will surely be the highlight for many visitors. But the event in Grenchen offers a few more aviation treats as well. For example, the Grenchen-based  Classic Formation will showcase its formation flights with a DC-3 and three Beech 18s. The military version of the DC-3, the C-47, will drop paratroopers in the style of the Normandy landings. In addition to vintage aircraft such as the Pilatus P-2 and P-3, the Antonov An-2, and the Nieuport 23 C-1, modern aircraft will also be on display. On the ground, there will be a large exhibition area showcasing Grenchen Airport, as well as an extensive food court. Advance ticket sales have already begun.
