Growing Electrifly-In Switzerland

This year's Electrifly-In Switzerland, which was held last weekend at the Swiss Air Force base at Bern Airport, was a success. The event was all about sustainable aviation and was attended by interested parties from near and far.

The exhibition in the hangar of the federal base offered an impressive variety of sustainable aviation projects. National and international development teams presented their innovative concepts, which will shape and permanently change aviation in the coming years. Exclusive insights into the work of teams such as smartflyer, Cellsius, Dufour Aerospace and Swiss International Air Lines with their partners, Lufthansa Aviation Training Switzerland, Green GT and Synhelion, various sustainability projects such as Sustainable Aviation Fuel, AeroSHARK and OPS efficiency were impressive.

The eTalk, moderated by Alex Miescher, brought together experts from various areas of aviation. They discussed the question of whether the goal of "net zero CO2 in aviation by 2050" is achievable. The stimulating discussions and points of view provided valuable information and views on the challenges that still lie ahead for sustainable aviation until then.

The mixed audience was offered e-taster flights, which were very popular due to the excellent flying weather conditions, especially on Saturday. The highlight of Electrifly-In Switzerland was the award ceremony for the eTrophy on Sunday afternoon. Prizes were awarded to pilots who flew the longest distance to Bern purely electrically, hybrid or as a "glider". Detailed coverage in AeroRevue 5/24
