Swiss Air Force rendezvous

In perfect weather conditions, around 20 former Swiss military aircraft met at Biel-Kappelen airfield for a fly-in. Support was provided by the Super Puma Display Team of the Swiss Air Force and IG Warbird.

Organizer Paul Misteli can be satisfied: The Biel-Kappelen airfield was literally overrun by visitors on the ground and from the air on Sunday. From the Nieuport 23, piloted by Isidor von Arx, to the Do 27 from Altenrhein, there were plenty of historic Swiss military aircraft for the numerous visitors to marvel at. The demonstration of the Super Puma of the Swiss Air Force was a source of great enthusiasm. Outside of the regular program, Danielle and Emiliano Del Buono surprised visitors with a wingwalker show with the Super Stearman. Over lunchtime, the spectators admired a demonstration by pilots from IG Warbird, who presented their perfectly built models of Swiss military aircraft in the sky. A report will follow in the upcoming AeroRevue 3/24. (Pictures Roger Steiner)
