European Championship success for Swiss parachute team

Erica Franz in the individual classification and Team Paradodendro: first victory at the 2025 European Championships in CZ-Klatovy

The 11th European Parachute Target Championships took place in Klatovy, Czech Republic, from July 10-13, 2025. The Swiss women's national team "Paradodendro" took part for the first time and got back on the winning track after a rather poor start to the season in the World Cup series. Out of unfortunately only four teams, but with a good lead, they won the European title for the first time under difficult conditions and with the valuable and long-standing support of coach Freddy Zbinden. The oldest member of the team, Erica Franz, deservedly celebrated her first European title and daughter Barbara Bloch achieved a sensational 4th place. Four of the five Paradodendro athletes finished in the top 10 out of 32 participants from 9 nations.

The results also counted towards the third competition of the 2025 World Cup series, which was a challenge as all five jumpers count towards the team ranking in the World Cup, but the worst result in the team is deducted from the European Championship ranking. The whole competition was made even more difficult by the difficult and rapidly changing weather conditions.

A detailed report will follow in the August issue of AeroRevue.
