Do we need an aviation commission again?
Together with 24 co-signatories, AeCS President and National Councillor Matthias Jauslin has submitted a parliamentary initiative on the Aviation Commission, which was dissolved at the end of 2004. It calls on the Federal Council to reactivate it and reinstate Article 5 of the Aviation Act.
Jauslin criticizes the fact that the mechanisms promised in 2004 to involve aviation stakeholders in aviation policy decisions are not working properly. With today's non-transparent regulations, the Federal Council is unilaterally guided in its decisions by the administration. What is needed, however, is a practical and broad-based democratic participation of those affected by aviation issues.
